I have made a submission to Fingal County Council on the planned upgrading of cycling and pedestrian facilities on Auburn Avenue in Castlenock, which I use on my way to work. You can see the submission here: https://consult.fingal.ie/en/submission/fin-c752-16
My main points in it are that it does not go far enough. It needs to connect more than just Auburn Avenue. The route includes one “cowpat” roundabout at present, which is hazardous for all: I am proposing that it be removed, and that 2 junctions get the full dutch “CYCLOPS” treatment (see the featured image on this post, which is on p357 of the National Cycle Design Manual.
You can still see the consultation on the Fingal website, and make a submission up until 13th September, at this link: https://consult.fingal.ie/en/consultation/auburn-avenue-12th-lock-walking-and-cycling-route-new-active-travel-investment-castleknock Many locals have so far, and have made some good points.
