A photo of a picture of my face made up of the content I was tweeting, some time early last decade

Once a year I give my dopamine receptors a break from social media, and delete the apps from my phone. This year, after 15 years on the platform Twitter/X, I have downloaded my archive and will be deleting my account.

The revelations earlier this month show that X and Grok have no regard for human decency. This is on top of the fact that they no longer allow for any protection for the truth.

The high points of my time on Twitter were probably the years from 2010 to 2020. It was a good place to reach out with my ideas and hear from other people throughout the world what was happening. I definitely learned from others and shaped my ideas from interacting with people.

More recently the algorithm seemed to be directing my content towards those that could look at a picture of a white sheep and swear that it was black, just to justify their warped viewpoint on something or another.

I have probably said some embarrassing things over the years, and for the sake of transparency, if I can find a way of uploading my archive here, I will. At present I am not sure how I can achieve that, but if you have an idea, please let me know in the comments.

You will be able to find me on Bluesky at this link and hopefully we can build a new tolerant, respectful and mind broadening community. I will be back online there on 1st Feb.
