I have spent the last few weeks campaigning for Patrick Costello who is running for election in Dublin South Central. I will be very happy to give him my number 1 vote on February 8th, and hope that most of the 1400 people who gave me a #1 in the 2016 election, everyone who has supported me over the years, and everyone who has seen green in the recent green wave can do the same, so that we can have a green in the Dáil for Dublin South Central.
I think Patrick is a good fit for this area. As a social worker he has real life experience of working with vulnerable people he will understand what people are facing, and what needs to be done to give everyone a better quality of life. He will work hard on issues I have championed like making sure resources come to vulnerable communities around our parts of Dublin.
Patrick has a track record on the city council since 2014. Dublin South Central voters appreciate people who have worked in the community and I’m hoping people will see Patrick’s hard work over the past 6 years.
He has also championed cycling issues, working with Cllr Paddy Smyth on trying to get a quiet way from Drimnagh to Rathmines off the ground. He is also the Green Party’s spokesperson on transport.
He has a long track record in many areas, and makes a difference from other politicians in that he is not a journalist, politics graduate or long-time hack and so can understand the issues people face in the real world. As well as his council work he has travelled to Palestine to see for himself the injustice there.
